1965 – ( In April between 9 to 27) Pakistan attacks Indian Border-posts on Kutch-Sind
Border.
(On 01-09-1965) Pakistan attacks India crossing international border in Chhamb
Area.
INDO PAK WAR – Indian Army marches towards Lahore on September,6th
And crosses Jammu West Pakistan border in drive towards Sialkot.
India and Pakistan agree to a cease-fire from September,23rd.
1966 - Indo-Pak summit at Tashket; Tashkent Pact on 11th January,1966
- Death of Lal Bahadur Shastri at Tashket on 11th January,1966
- Mrs. Indira Gandhi became Prime Minister of India on 24-Jan-1966.
- Punjab Divided-Unilingual states of Punjab and Haryana come into being
On November,1st. Chandigarh made union territory.
1967 – Fourth General Elections.
New Union Government headed by Mrs. Indira Gandhi and takes oath of office
On 13-March, 1967.
- Dr.Zakir Hussain choosen as 3rd President of India.
1968 - Emergency ends on January, 10th.
Kutch tribunal award (Feb, 19th )
1969- Death of President Zakir Hussain on May, 3rd.
Shri V.V.Giri elected President of India on 20th August.
1970- Meghalaya inaugurated on 2nd April.
Death of C.V.Raman, (Noble Prize winner) on 21st November.
